Calling Attention to Conservation and Biodiversity Through Art Reminiscent of Chihuly’s Blue Polyvitro Crystals that floated on Panandus Lake a few years ago, Fairchild had new artists floating Mango Cubes on that same lake starting June 27 through the end of August. In celebration of the 17th Annual International Mango Festival, artists from PIAG Museum in Coral Gables showcased mango diversity as each artist created a floating cube featuring different varieties of mangos and abstract mango art—all to call attention to conservation and biodiversity. As a bonus, PIAG artists worked one-on-one with children at Fairchild’s Mango Festival on July 11 and 12, assisting them in the creation of their own mango cubes, as part of the exhibition.
